MAT PILATES

Our mat-based Pilates class is designed for all ages and is perfect for those that want to learn the foundations of Pilates, are just getting back into fitness, recovering from an injury or just want to gain a better understanding of how to use their body. A low impact modality combining a series of conditioning exercises, controlled deep core strengthening movements and resistance work emphasising mobility in order to build control of the spine and core. We focus on the importance of a strong and stable core to improve coordination, posture and strengthen the deep abdominal, lower back and pelvic floor muscles.

BEGINNER (MIND)

A level designed to those who have had little to some Reformer Pilates experience in the past. This class is suitable for those that are just beginning their Pilates exercise routine, want to work a bit slower and focus on control and technique, or are working on building the strength to move up to intermediate. We will work on fundamental techniques by going through basic flows to help you solidify your movements while getting a good burn on your muscles. Here you need to get your mind to connect with your body. We recommend that you continue doing beginner classes until you are comfortable with the reformer, feel that your body awareness is good and also are starting to take intermediate springs. We advise 4-6 beginner classes before you move, but consult your trainer for an assessment.

INTERMEDIATE (BODY)

A perfect step to take when you are feeling confident and have built on the skills learnt in the Beginner level. These classes are higher in intensity and have continuous flow with harder options. In this level, your strength, balance and core stability will be challenged and tested. Before you move to Advanced, we recommend that you become comfortable with our terminology and feel that you know the majority of our movements. We advise 10-15 intermediate classes before you move, but consult your trainer for an assessment.

ADVANCED (HEART)

A class for those who have substantial experience in the Reformer Pilates method, a high level of fitness and great understanding of the Kia Kaha Way. This level is for the ones with reformer pilates settled in their hearts as we will push you to your limits. With complex sequences that will challenge your body and mind, you will need to have the Kia Kaha mantra to push through. The flow is faster, the exercises are harder and your body will burn.

MINDFUL (Yin)

A calm, slow paced class in a heated room that works on gentle movements, deeper held stretches, and mindfulness to help you wind down, de-stress and regenerate. With the room heated to 23-30 degrees you can safely go deeper than the muscular level and become more aware of your ligaments, tendons and fascia to create new space and freedom around your whole body. Perfect complement to our other Yoga, Cardio and Pilates classes and any other of your activities that have a more dynamic and active flow. Influences: Yin, Therapeutic, Restorative and Meditation.

BALANCED (Yin Yang Yoga):

This is a warm Yoga blend class, bringing together the benefits of synchronising your breath to flowing sequences (Vinyasa), standing postures (Hatha), and passively stretching with longer held poses (Yin & Restorative). Facilitate deeper muscular release, quiet your mind and prolong your breath by first warming up in our heated room (23-30 degrees) and moving your bodies. Cultivate strength & tranquility and maintain your balance both physically and mentally. Influences: Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Restorative.

DETOX (Yang Yoga)

This heated class offers you more flow and sweat, connecting body and breath to your movements and powerful poses. With the room heated to between 23 and 30 degrees, detoxify, re-energise and challenge yourself by developing your endurance, strength, flexibility, stability and coordination. Discover your full potential while respecting and working with your current capabilities. Influences: Vinyasa, Hatha and Power Yoga.

DanceFIT

Class designed to increase metabolism and improve mobility, cognitive functions, stress, balance and coordination. Enjoy a fun cardiovascular workout dancing to get you moving and grooving with sound beats ranging from latin to commercial. Prepare to break a sweat and not even realise you are working out. Suitable to everyone, even if you think you have two left feet.

HIIT

This class uses functional movements with High Intensity Interval Training. Short, intense activity bursts followed by brief recovery periods kick your metabolism into overdrive, creating an oxygen debt, so your body keeps blitzing calories hours later. The best way to get the fastest results, accelerating your metabolism and maximising calorie burn. Enjoy a full body workout to build serious cardiovascular fitness while improving strength, tone and invigorating the mind and body. Expect medium to high impact movement using weighted props, resistance equipment and body weight.
