Karl Henare

Founder and Head Trainer

Raised on the shore Karl travelled the world as a diving instructor and somehow managed to find himself as a manager for a manufacturing company. Realising that his life had somehow gone from a fit, outdoor lifestyle to an office surrounded by welding equipment he took the obvious steps to rectify this mistake. Having a body that was ageing from misuse and a sedentary lifestyle he was referred to pilates and hasn’t looked back. Taking it to the extreme he immersed himself in it and actually changed his career to help others find movement and health. With a BCom from Auckland Uni, a Cert IV in pilates from Breathe and a Cert IV in Personal training in Melbourne he has a wide range of knowledge and loves a good challenge and will help you push past boundaries that you thought were there. In the meantime he will distract you with his terrible dad jokes and casual banter so that it all seems little more enjoyable and a bit of an escape.

Shannon’s passion for Pilates began in her teenage tears where she used clinical Pilates to rehab her hockey injuries & improve her sporting performance. After experiencing the amazing results for herself, she was hooked! She completed her Physiotherapy Degree in Auckland & crossed the ditch to Melbourne, where she worked as a Musculoskeletal Physio & taught Mat Pilates, Clinical Pilates & HIIT personal training sessions.

Shannon then spent some time travelling overseas & returned to Melbourne to pursue her love & passion for all things Pilates – group reformer, private classes, mums & bubs & pre-natal classes. The travel bug struck again & off she went to Canada, where she discovered Buti Yoga – her new favourite way to exercise. She loved it so much that she became a qualified Buti Yoga Instructor (the first New Zealander!) & hopes that fellow Kiwis love it just as much as she does.

Shannon takes on a very holistic approach to Pilates & loves to motivate clients no matter their age, abilities or personal goals. She understands that everyone’s bodies work slightly differently & encourages people to explore their movement & just have fun with it. With her background in functional movement & injury prevention, Shannon also loves to encourage clients to apply the Principles of Pilates beyond the studio walls & into their daily life – whether it be at their work environment, hobbies, sports or other fitness activities. Mindful & efficient movement translates into more energy, less pain, improved strength/endurance, an elated mood & an increased sense of empowerment. To be able to do what we love more often and with greater ease makes people happier, healthier and spreads positive energy! Shannon’s classes are fun, dynamic, functional & educational to ensure you get the absolute most out of each workout!

Shannon is also a total foodie, a below average dancer & although she doesn’t have a musical bone in her body, loves to get amongst the live music scene! She loves outdoor adventures, the occasional Netflix marathon, & being ‘Auntie Shandogg’ to her 7 wonderful nieces & nephews.

I obtained a certificate in personal training straight out of school, learning soon after it wasn’t what I had expected, I’ve been caught in the hospitality trap for a few years before I started taking reformer pilates classes personally to help with my dysfunctional body. Having not been able to do simple exercises at the gym, I found a new love for reformer pilates because I was able to exercise and feel the good hurt the next day not that bad. Excited to be able to take my base knowledge and learn new skills so I can help people achieve what they want from reformer pilates. I’m Just a rural girl who enjoys my down time spent getting lost in the forest, tanned at the beach and dirty on the farm.

Olivia is a Stott trained pilates instructor and Rainbow Kids Yoga teacher. Olivia has also been an early childhood teacher since 2010.

Olivia grew up locally, loves travelling, is passionate about holistic wellness and loves being in nature.

Olivia aims to create classes where clients feel empowered to move, gain body awareness and be challenged.
